Introduction

I qualified as Midwife in 2013 and subsequently went on to pursue a career in Neonatal Care in 2014. Within my Neonatal role I quickly advanced and completed the foundation of neonatal nursing and intensive care courses within 18 months and progressed to an NICU Sister in 2016. Following my appointment as an NICU Sister I also adopted the managerial roles essential to the day to day logistics of a Neonatal Unit, which meant developing close relationships with the medical team and other hospitals within the Neonatal Network to enable effective transfer of patients. I have teaching experience on in-house study days within my Trust in the specialist topic of GORD (gastro-oesphageal reflux disorder) and have created educational resources on all areas on neonatal care for both professionals and parents. I now work on a bank/adhoc basis in NICU and as nurse in charge. I maintain my knowledge and skills by aiming to work 2-4 shifts a month and attending Neonatal Network study sessions.

In addition, my highest academic achievement is a Master of Public Health in 2022. For this I completed a primary research project from initial literature review, ethical panel/boards for approval along with the design/methodology, data collection and full result report writing, excerpt and presentation on the topic area of GBS (group B streptococcus) education amongst professionals.

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
