BSc (Hons) Midwifery
Experienced Hospital Midwife
I earned a Bachelor Degree in Midwifery in 2010 from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata," where I focused on predicting factors of caesarean sections and operative births. I then undertook a professional internship completed at a hospital in Rome before moving to the UK in 2011.
I have extensive experience in coordinating labour wards and providing comprehensive midwifery care in various settings, including hospitals and private practice, and am skilled in managing high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies, including shoulder dystocia, postpartum haemorrhage, eclampsia, and breech births.
Key highlights of my clinical expertise include:
· Proficiency in High-Risk and Complex Cases: I have extensive experience managing obstetric complications such as shoulder dystocia, postpartum haemorrhage, eclampsia, vaginal breech deliveries, and cord prolapse. My ability to lead teams during emergencies ensures timely and life-saving interventions.
· Advanced Foetal Monitoring Skills: As a recognised expert in interpreting CTGs and performing foetal surveillance, I am trusted to assess and manage the well-being of mother and baby in high-stakes situations.
· Leadership in Obstetric Emergencies: My role as a Band 7 labour ward co-ordinator allows me to lead critical events with confidence, co-ordinating multidisciplinary teams to respond effectively to major obstetric haemorrhage, maternal collapse, or neonatal resuscitation scenarios.
· Commitment to patient-centered care: I am passionate about empowering women through informed decision-making and ensuring a positive birth experience, whether in hospital or homebirth settings. My expertise in perinatal psychological support and breastfeeding assistance ensures holistic care for both mother and baby.
· Educational Leadership: As a qualified Practice Assessor, I have a proven track record in training and mentoring midwives, enhancing their clinical skills and preparing them for the demands of modern maternity care.
· Continuous Professional Development: My commitment to staying at the forefront of midwifery is evident in my extensive training, which includes advanced courses on maternal medicine, obstetric emergencies, sepsis management, biomechanics of birth, and neonatal resuscitation.
I am qualified as a Practice Assessor, contributing to the education and training of upcoming midwives.
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
