Nurse Practitioner experienced in GP practice, out of hours & Urgent Treatment Centres

Introduction

Since qualifying as a Registered Adult Nurse in early 2000 I have continually sought out and contributed at the innovative frontiers of professional modern nursing practise.

I am a highly skilled and experienced clinician and educator with a clinical and teaching history in commercial and NHS environments. I maintain a current NMC PIN as a prescribing Nurse Practitioner. I am competent and capable of providing expert opinion in matters relating to General Practice, urgent treatment centre or out-of hours GP service settings. 

I currently work clinically as a locum Nurse Practitioner for several clients. As a long term locum I provide clinical support for colleagues, regularly supervise an ANP trainee, along with medical students and junior doctors.

I have a particular interest and expertise in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, particularly sports injury, respiratory, metabolic disorders and mental health. Since 2020 I have been studying integrative counselling in order to better understand the dynamics of communication and support mental health of clients in the counselling and consultation room. I’ve incorporated this experience into my approach to my clinical work and work as a clinical trainer, developing and altering various courses that I deliver via a specialist training partner. 

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
