Networking Again at the APIL 2021 Conference

Somek and Associates' Alison Somek, CEO, and Yvonne Lane, Client Relationship Consultant, were delighted to attend the APIL 2-day clinical negligence annual conference at Celtic Manor on the 22nd and 23rd of September. It was exciting to finally be exhibiting at an in person event and networking with both new and existing clients face to face again after so long!!! Indeed, many of the delegates attending in person commented on how thrilled they were to be back at the conference meeting up with colleagues and other solicitors face to face, and also visiting the exhibition hall and chatting with providers.

There were over 200 delegates all in all – 60 of whom were attending virtually and the rest, including speakers, face to face. The solicitors attending fed back that the conference content was interesting, varied and appropriate to their fields and speakers were very professional.

Encouragingly, the Somek exhibitor stand had a fairly continuous stream of traffic with clients old and new stopping by to chat and pick up our information and giveaways (the Somek cows still being the most popular by far!!). Lyndsey Taylor, from Medical Solicitors, won the box of Fortnum and Mason wines in our raffle draw (see photo above) — congratulations Lyndsey!!

The gala dinner went extremely with all exhibitors, delegates and speakers enjoying a lovely meal and evening, ending with a disco to burn off the calories!

We look forward to attending the APIL conference again next year!
